Introducing | David Ubl

German designer David Ubl shares with us his latest collection for the upcoming spring season. The range, which showed this past July as part of Berlin Fashion Week encompasses a young mindset, fusing sportswear with a general need to stand apart from the pack. An all-to familiar drop crotch dominates the collection’s shorts and trousers, while outerwear gives way to diverse shapes that sit nicely against tailored shirting options. Altogether, the monochromatic range makes for a great foundation for Ubl, who is currently balancing the development of his line with a full-time job.

Cruise 2010 | Yves Saint Laurent

The fall season is quickly coming to a close and Yves Saint Laurent looks towards the future with their cruise 2010 collection. Nonchalant in terms of fit, Stefano Pilati turns to both baggy and oversize proportions to outfit his man. Rebelling against the narrow silhouette, loose trousers, not only sport a high sack waist, but are cropped a safe distance from the ankle. Paired with jackets and blazers that aim at a more tailored approach, the finishing touches of the range are seen in nomadic draping and a muted color palette. While accessibility may prove a difficulty, Pilati succeeds in forcing upon the eye a chaotic world of risks that takes shape around new ideas about the very construction of menswear.

Fall 2009 | Tim Van Steenbergen

Belgian designer Tim Van Steenbergen demonstrates his keen eye for design with his current fall collection. Moved by the intricate details found in nature, the designer has fashioned a collection that combines unique, but subtle cuts with varied textures. Based in an appropriate color palette of earth tones, the collection’s details are best highlighted. At first sight, sculpted hoods make quite the powerful statement, while the designer’s point of view continues to be carried out with the effortless draping of fabric and careful placement of buttons. Whether in the pleats of a coat or in the details of how a lapel falls, the collection finds the ideal harmony between the essentials and the shaping of tomorrow’s fashion.

Very, Very NICE!!
