If your like me and have brushed off Chanel as a serious watchmaker, their latest piece will definitely change your mind. The J12 Rétrograde Mystérieuse is an incredible combination of 5 complications: a tourbillon, digital minutes display, retrograde minutes hand, 10 day power reserve, and a retractable vertical crown. Most interesting is the retrograde complication which goes to work when the minute hand reaches the vertical crown and then proceeds to move backwards until it reaches the other side. If you're wondering how you would be able the time while the minute hand is reversing, the watch features a digital minute counter at 6 o'clock. Yes, its over-engineered, but damn is it beautiful.
