Asics Gel Lyte Speed Surface Pack

Asics unveils its Surface Pack, which features two exciting new interpretations of the Gel Lyte Speed, a design that was originally developed in 1989 in Japan, and later launched in the USA and Europe in 1991. The Gel Lyte Speed is a lighter version of the flagship Gel Lyte III, and was designed specifically to meet the needs of experienced runners. Its light weight frame is constructed thanks to its stripped-down design, which retains only the most crucial features, such as the split tongue and the revolutionary GEL cushioning system. The special split tongue ensures an excellent fit, foot position and the ultimate in comfort, as it prevents the tongue from slipping too far down inside the shoe.

Inspired by the outdoors, both shoes feature things a runner is likely to come across when out and about. One of the models is grey to represent the color of the road, and has touches of red and white for a road-sign look and feel, while the other has a more off-the-beaten-track style, with green to represent grass, and a mud-splashed sole and lace design. These two unique designs from the Japanese running company are now available through select retailers across Europe.
